Baby steps

On you last official day as a baby...

Yesterday was the first time that I really felt a little overwhelmed at how fast the time has gone.
You caught be off guard - playing like a "big kid"
such a small thing...
but before I knew it my eyes  were swimming with tears.

On to the great news front...

You started drinking from your sippy cup... finally!
We decided to skip trying the bottle and focus on the next step.
The other night you really started drinking!
Since your bottle boycott - this is the first unassisted sip of any liquid.

This morning you ate breakfast food before nursing.  That is HUGE!
You are just like your daddy and want to eat as soon as your eyes open in the morning.

I know you aren't ready yet, but this is progress.
I keep reminding myself that I will miss it later.
Seeing how fast this year has gone I know I will.

But I also miss bras without flaps...
and turtleneck sweaters.

I have a sippy-cup light at the end of this nursing tunnel...
and hope for a night away, just daddy and I...
and dressing in the morning with out making sure my clothes include all access passes.

It is the small things.

Way to go Eva - glad she finally took a sip! Annie took a sip of milk at dinner last night and didn't immediately look horrified - Progress!

I hear you on the dressing for nursing - now I nurse before I get dressed in the morning, and as soon as I'm home from work I change into comfy clothes so I've stopped needing "all access" clothes - it's nice!

I can't believe she's going to be one year old already. How crazy! I hope she has a great birthday.
