a Birthday

Today is Miss Lauren's Birthday.

Her mommy is my oldest and dearest friend.

We met when she was 7 and I was 8.

She didn't like me very much at first.

I followed her around until she finally agreed to be my friend.

I am persistent like that.

We went to Lauren's 4th birthday party on Sunday.

The little girls said hello...

There was a trampoline...

of course the monster loved it.

Football was played...

Notice the dirty leg... this monster loves dirt.

Hotdogs were roasted...

candles lit...

presents opened...

cake tasted.

But my favorite moment... 

I was standing beside Lauren' s mommy, one of my very best friends,
a friend that I have known since we we were still babies.

We were chatting about the what-nots and going-ons in our lives,

and we turned around to see this....

Our babies catting away,

talking about the what-nots and going-ons in their lives...

while their mommies smiled and got teary eyed...

and soaked it in.
