It is dark outside, but the sky is light.
Pink, oranges and blues... the palest shades.
The trees are inky silhouettes against the pastel sky.
I am restless.
This pretty sky covers so many places.
So many people and so many different trees.
I am not a rooter.
Laying down roots is not something I do...
I have never been in a town, or a house and felt
"this is where I want to be forever."
My forever moments are that...
moments...
and people.
Not places.
The rest is a landscape...
a backdrop...
a stage...
for the real things in life.
Part of me wants to root...
to dig deep and stretch out.
To find the good and make it the familiar.
Make the today an everyday.
As I was driving home tonight...
I realized I was on auto pilot for the first time.
Driving without paying attention.
Making turns and navigations while my head was someplace else.
Snapping to, not knowing for a second where I am, and then realizing...
yes I am going the right way.
I guess that is a root in the soil.
But alas...
While this root shown itself...
I was dreaming of living abroad...
passport required.

VERY sweet <3!
This is so cute! Love the bright colors! The ball's almost as big as her!
nice to meet you .... love that your forever moments are people :)
Love this! The colors are so lovely too.
How interesting--I'm totally the opposite! I feel like our roots are already laid down so deep that I can't ever imagine living somewhere else!
Love this. Well said and adorable photo! I resonate with you.
I know EXACTLY what you mean about roots. I have never been a 'rooter' i was in a new place every 2 to 3 years in my 26 years of living...but i have unintentionally found myself rooting down. it scares me sometimes, but other times it is comforting.
WOW!! This was incredible!!!!!
She is so sweet... adorable little yellow dress! Aww. Forever moments are people... that is beautiful! Love your writing!
Love, love, love this. Great photo.
Boy do I get this, Nessa.
Ok, I totally AM a rooter. But I love the shot of your little Eva. : )
Precious sweet moment in time!
What a beautifully written post. Your little girl is such a doll. Great photo!
P.S. Thanks for visiting my blog and for your comment. I just realized I'm commenting yet again during a late night nursing session. :) These are memories in the making, I suppose. Aren't sweet memories the best roots of all? :)
You know, I think there's definitely something about having a child that aids in putting a root down... even if you don't intend to. :) Children ground us. Doesn't mean we can't be uprooted or repotted, but I definitely think they contribute to some roots going deep...
This picture is just so darling!
Great moment captured and colors are done well together to grab your attention.
Awwww....so sweet!!! Love the colors to!
