On Call

About twice a week...
Michael is overnight at the hospital.

Some days, things run so smooth.
I get a lot done...
run errands, clean, cook.

We take special trips just to play.
Goo to the library.

Other days it can be hard.
Hard to be the only one...
all day long.

When he can, we meet him at the hospital for dinner.
We eat, talk and visit.

Eva plays with her daddy.
Sometimes she writes all over his patient notes.

It is just an about hour out of 24...
but it makes all the difference in the world.

This is so sweet. Being on call can be the pits, but having your family come over, that's priceless!

Awww- it's so nice that you are able to get together with him while he's working.

Being on call is certainly hard on families, so I am glad that you are able to squeeze in a little family time. Have a good week.

I loved visiting my dad at work when I was little. It always felt like I was being let in on a special secret. And I agree - finding ways to make that family time happen in the midst of the daily schedules is always refreshing and rewarding.

Funny, you sure make all the hard stuff look easy.
I feel your pain, my husband works long hours and some days, even though my twins are in college and my middle schooler has long days, I cherish the minutes we are a family unit. I think it is only normal to want to be in the same spot with the one's you love.
How lovely, do you bring him dinner?
