Thank you Rachel for the motivation to finally make this.
Dear Deedle,
It was one of the many ideas that I had saved - and just never did anything about.
The monster was napping and I decided - now or never.
I had wanted to make something special for your daddy,
and this fit the bill perfectly.
So I got to work.
10 minutes later I had settled on a font and started adding dates.
Then I added your due date...
and it made me stop.
All those days were such big ones...
and all together they are making such a wonderful story.
Isn't amazing how a few numbers in a row can mean so many things?
Love, life, a family.
20
That is the number of weeks you have been growing...
and that is how many more weeks that we have until we meet you.
We are halfway little one.
I know that things are a bit different this time around.
I haven't picked out a baby book for you.
We are behind in reading all the updates on how your reflexes are doing...
and this 20 week milestone crept up on me...
and had me a little surprised.
I don't have drawers od tiny outfits washed and waiting.
Your bassinet is still at your grandparents.
But there are some great things about me now...
so different this time around.
You are getting a well trained mommy and daddy.
I am not worried at all about how we will take care of you.
I know we can.
And we aren't half bad at it.
I am not scared this time...
not the tiniest bit.
not the tiniest bit.
I know how amazing you are going to be.
How perfect your tiny toes are going to look.
I won't sleep for a while...
but I know that it will be just fine.
Because, I know how beautiful newborns look in the first light of the morning...
and how fast those days will go.
I know that we will be spending the first few weeks just getting to know you.
Figuring out what you like.
You will teach us.
Your favorite way to be rocked, bounced or jiggled to sleep.
When you like to eat and your favorite songs.
I also know...
how it will feel brand new and like you always belonged.
And how much in love we will be.
So happy 1/2 way little one.
Love,
Daddy, mommy and the Eva-monster.

Wow, halfway already!! It seems to be going so fast, but yet... the days are crawling by for me :) Funny how that works!
20 weeks already! 20 more to go!!!
It's downhill from now on. What happy thing to be planning for!
i bet you can't wait to meet that little babe. the second one is definitely different, that is for sure!
Can I just take a moment to tell you how beautiful your writing is??.....seriously...
So sweet and touching! :-)
It's forever and a blink of an eye all compressed into 9 months. Incredible to think about. Love to you, friend.
I almost did one of those date things for my husband...but I'm finishing up another project (wink, wink!) and it would be lost on him! I'll do it for me at some point! My only fear with baby #2 is that I couldn't imagine loving another the way I loved my first. But all our love just keeps growing - as you have said so well. I feel blessed to share in this journey ~ thanks!
Such a sweet, sweet post! Love how you did your dates and the font you chose! How exciting you are at the halfway mark!!
Congratulations. Enjoy every moment.
Every post you write lately makes me cry Nessa!
I can't believe you're halfway done already!
I love the picture but your post is just beautiful.
Your writing just always "gets to me" in the best way. Nessa you have such an a-mazing ways w/ words.
I LOVE this sweet gift for Daddy. Xo
This made me teary, in a good way. With the second, such a blessing knowing what is to come. I remember when my second was teensy and would be up in the middle of the night, and I would be exhausted, I would study him and think, "remember how small his fingers are, and how he liked to snuggle under my chin". I would take it all in, trying to burn it in my mind, because I could always sleep later; but I'd never have that moment with him again.
What a great blog! love your writing style & love that print idea. I'm doing a Project 52 & would love to link up! (came over from styleberry). http://ourlilstory.wordpress.com/
I've seen this around pinterest and have wanted to make one as well. Love the post! :)
