Everyday

IMG_8078

Dear Deedle,

Life hums along so quickly.
Weekends fly by and then here comes Monday.

Start checking things of the to-do list.
Running here and there.
Adding more to the list than you take off.

Hold an ice pack on the Eva-monsters head...
read her a story.
The same zoo story over and over.

Then bam.
You stop me in my tracks.

A flurry of kicks or elbow jabs.
A complete somersault.
Or a thrift store onesie appears in the laundry.

It happens so many times a day.
But somehow I still get completely blown away that you are on your way.

At first I felt a guilty.
Not having all this time to think about you.
To talk to just you.

But I know you hear me talking.
Hear the stories I read to your sister.
I hope you like the zoo book too, because you hear that one a lot.

It has already happened I guess.
The time splitting that naturally does...
when you go from one to more than one.

I wondered how it worked.
And it is happening already.

You are just fitting in.
Becoming a part of our everyday.

So keep doing those somersaults...
soon things are going to get too tight for that.

While your at it...
go ahead and put your head south.
That would be really helpful.

Just know I am loving you always.
And amazed by you too.

Oh yes- I remember those feelings. It all works out- believe me. While you are spending time with the other one now- once this new little miracle is born- you may be feeling this way about the other one. It will eventually balance out. So very excited for you!!

Nessa, these little notes to deedle & monster are going to be so cherished by them one day! How amazing will it be for them to be able to look back on all your loving sweet words! That is why I started blogging, for Jaxy to have his life documented.

I need to start doing a better job of that. You inspire me. Thank you friend!

Such an exciting time ~ I have so cherished our little family of four! I remember when I was pregnant with my second not being able to imagine how it would all fit together...I think mostly because I'd never loved anyone/thing as much as my daughter and couldn't imagine another baby capturing my heart as completely...But then it just happens!!

You will always have enough love...and time and energy and everything else in between for monster and deedle. Mamas are made for these things ;) enjoying reading about the simple things of everyday.

That is so true, they do slowly fit into the mix. And really with second kids, I think they here more talking in the womb than #1! funny how my kids would love the very same songs and books.
