Smile

IMG_1225

I am little blown away how a baby that sleeps over 18 hours a day can rock my world.
Having to divide my time between both of them has been tricky.
Then trying to finding time for anything else is almost impossible.
It is the season...

When I feel like I am sinking, I take a breath and look at both of them.
Look and see how small he is and how big she has become - in the blink of an eye.
That usual brings me back to center.  Reminds me how short these insane moments are...
and how insanely I will miss them when they are gone.

So, as I am walking around the living room ...
holding a crying and hungry Theodore
calling out Eva's name because I am not sure where she is hiding
grasping at straws for what to make for dinner
still wearing my pajamas with spit up stains
questioning if I have time to run to the restroom
catching my reflection in the mirror - seeing dark circles and wild hair
hearing my phone ring and not knowing where it is or really caring
and I step in a little puddle in the middle of the floor
and hope it is just juice...

Under those eyes with the dark circles...
is a smile.
Because this is really the good stuff.

You are so honest and real, and I love that about your blog! I remember all of those days in the newborn stage with just one child and just how hard it was. I know you are trying to find your way through it all, but from what I hear it gets easier! Hang in there!!
