insane

Some background:
Eva goes to preschool at a dance and gymnastics center.
Part of the day is spent in a gym rolling, tumbling bouncing...

When rolling down ramped mats, the teachers tell them to roll like a pencil.
Arms up an legs down.
pencil roll collage
So yesterday I was in the upstairs bathroom and Eva was in the doorway.
A few seconds later I hear...

Tha-Thump
Tha-THUMP
THA-THUMP
THA-THUMP

THUMP-BANG
THUMP-BANG-THUMP
THUMP-BANG

Running to the top of the stairs...
I hear Michael scream.
All I see is blonde hair flying.

Eva fell down the stairs.
Oh God, Oh God, Dear God.

I couldn't breath.
As I practically threw myself down the stairs to get to her...
all I could think of was how fastest to get to the hospital.

Michael made it to her first and started checking her out.
She was actually fine, thank God.
Today there wasn't even a mark on her.

After she calmed down and was her old self...
she started talking.

I rolled like a pencil down the stairs and bumped my head...
then I fell all the way to the floor.

Yep.
You got that right.

She - on purpose - rolled like a pencil down an entire flight of stairs.
Well, she actually rolled like a pencil partway...
because by the end she was rolling head over feet.

She is insane folks.

Had a handful of those heart stopping moments along the way. Thank God they mostly ended as well as this one!

Aww - since my oldest actually fell down the stairs and really hurt himself last summer I can REALLY relate! What a scare it must have been, I´m so glad it didn´t get worse!

Oh - that is such a scary feeling. To see something like that & those few seconds where you don't know if they are alright or not!! So glad she is fine, though - now you can breathe!

Ohmygosh, that is pretty crazy. Crazy still, that their little minds don't even realise it!

Oh my word, how scary and hilarious. I can't believe she did it on purpose. I have no doubt that if we had stairs Avery would have broken something already. : )

My three year old did the exact same thing. He is super tall so he didn't make it to far sideways. He ended up head over feet for most of the way and got quite the bump on his forehead. Hasn't done it since :)

I so knew where the story was going as soon as you set the background. Eva has always been a fan of the stairs! The question is, did she learn from it or enjoy it?

I have to say, I just laughed so hard I cried. Not because it's funny. I would have reacted the exact same way as you. Major freak out mode. But I laughed because I can just imagine Teagan doing the exact same thing. Love you friend!!

I'm glad she is ok! But I must admit, I chuckled a little bit at the story. She seems like a hoot! Your family is adorable!

Oh that's so scary. My middle boy is always crazy and had a horrific fall down a friend's stairs when he was little. It was terrifying but he was ok except for a big lump on his head and as soon as he calmed down he said "I want to do that AGAIN!" sigh.
