In my shoes

Eva in my shoes

Little monster, being in my shoes is a great place to be.

Hoping time would just slow down a bit.
Skipping all the cleaning to spend the day at the park because it is just so lovely outside.
In a marriage that makes you a better person and makes you smile at the same time.
Have accomplished a few of your life goals.
Happily change or let go of some of your goal that just aren't as important.
Made some mistakes, but learned a lot.
A little tired because you have a lot going on.
Content that things are as they should be.
Looking forward to the exciting things to come.
Found something that sparks your creativity and get to spend time doing them.
Comfortable in your own skin and with who you are.
Laughing so hard watching a monster try to walk in your shoes, you have to run to the potty.
Start saying potty instead of bathroom on a regular basis.
Become someone a little better than you ever dreamed but never even imagined.

And best of all...
Getting to spend time loving the most amazing monster... ever.

What a sweet shot. I have a couple of my son in his dad's shoes - I love those types of photos. Great job capturing that moment!

Lovely photo and just enough of that little top in the crop to make it extra sweet. Enjoyable and meaningful reading.

I really do love "visiting" you here. I stop in, look, read...come back to steal a glance and re-read. You speak with kindness, tenderness, insight and strength. And, as others have mentioned, you accomplish this with very few words! It's lovely to read that you'd be ok with your daughter growing to fill your {imperfectly wonderful} shoes. I didn't always feel that way about myself as my kids were growing up...she will learn much from this heart of yours!

As I read your post, I could see every line in the form of a slide. Remember those old fashioned slide projectors teachers used in middle school? Lovely, lovely post!
