Hunter

Michael is a terrible finder.
If something is missing, he might not be who you want on the case.

Send him to get something from a drawer, closet or cabinet...
many times he gets there and searches and searches and then says...
It isn't in there.

Then I go to the drawer, closet or cabinet, and there it is.
A lot of times staring at me from right on top.

Maybe it is the whole Hunter-Gatherer thing.
He can spot a moving object from the corner of his eye.

But, if it isn't moving - it does not exist.
Good hunter, bad gatherer.

Sometimes, it is hilarious.
I will leave the object of interest in the drawer, just as I found it...
so he can see where it was, and how bad he missed.

Other times, it drives me crazy...
As in, when I really need something
and would love not to have to get it myself.

Today...
I love, love his bad gathering skills.

We don't keep soda that often.
So, when we have it, it is a bigger deal.

Before he was leaving for work...
he looked for the last Fresca in the fridge, and came up empty handed.
We both assumed it was gone.

Then, I was organizing the fridge tonight.
There, behind the strawberries, was the last can...
all for me.

Thanks Michael.

I love fresca. And this tale. My husband is so like this ~ but my son is...and has always been...the best 'finder' of anyone I've ever met!

Made me laugh! I'm sure it was planned, Nessa. He meant to "not find it" so you could have the joy of finding it when you needed it the most. Or maybe it's just a male thing. A husband thing. But we love them just the same.

Oh my word, this is hilarious. My husband is the EXACT. SAME. WAY. He'll ask me where something is and most of the time my response is "Are you kidding? It's literally right in front of you."

Haha, that's awesome since I think he drank the whole case over the weekend. He deserved to miss it!

Haha! Nice treat for you! I must admit, I am terrible too. I will look for my keys only to find them in the very spot I looked first. It happens at work an awful lot too. Luckily, I have always been able to find my children...so far.
