A Dress

I have been changing a lot lately...

More than I thought a person could in a few months.  If you look back over my life, my tom-boy, scabby kneed, dirty, bean pole 12 year old self would be horrified.  I hated pink, hair brushes, makeup, the idea of wearing the training bra my mother insisted I own.  I loved boys (to ride bikes with and play sports with - NOT to giggle about), sports, sneakers, ponytails...

I had a very girly best friend.  I think that is when my change started - ever so slowly.  I met her when I was 10.  She giggled and liked pink.  She played a mean game of kick-ball and was our tether in the early makings of a friendship.  Plus - my favorite guy pal had a huge crush on her.  She convinced me that training bras were necessary, and ponytails could be cute - not just utilitarian.

Now I am more girly than her.  I own more makeup, and hairbrushes and she asks me for advice on both.

I am liking all things domestic - cooking, cleaning, being homey.  So weird for this committed career lady who has worked my tail off to get to being the youngest and first female in my position.

In our first home - I met the retro love for furniture and clothes.  (I will post pictures of our home tonight - I miss it often.)

This is where I find myself, in love with retro girly but not quite ready for pink.  I searched retro girl dresses and found this site and this dress... I am going to have a hard time not getting 20 dresses from here...
