On January 28, 2010, at 8:56 p.m., Eva Josephine joined our family! I can't believe she is a week old today! The time has flown by. Delivery went really well - she did outstanding. I had some complications that earned me a return visit to the hospital a day after coming home. I had to stay a few more days, but they had a bed for Eva in the room and Michael never left my side. We are both doing great now. Eva weighed 7 lbs. 1 oz and at her first doctor appointment today had gained 3 ounces since birth. A birth story will follow later this week.
Many people told me I would never know love like the love I would feel seeing our little one for the first time - and they could not have been more right. The love I feel for her overwhelms me so many times.
What they didn't tell me is how watching Michael fall in love with his daughter would make me feel. The way he cares for her, and how he take care of the both of us, is so amazing. He hardly slept, he never complained. He is the best father and the best husband in the world. I am thankful every moment for my family.
