Behind the scenes...

For Michael.

I know you see her smiles when you walk in the door...

her laughter at your dinner games...
her conversation complete with hand gestures to tell you about her day...

the belly shakes and hand claps.

But there are some things that only I get to see...

How you both tilt your heads the same direction when you are thinking...

and wrinkle your foreheads.

How when I say, "Let's go bye bye and see daddy."
she waves, smiles and claps.

How she looks at you when you are explaining things to her... 

locked in and hanging on every word.

How when she wakes up in the morning, and you are home, 

I pass by the stairs and head to our bedroom...

she almost jumps out of my arms into the bed in excitement because she realizes you are there.

How she knows what the horn sounds like when you lock your car...

and heads towards the front door when she hears it.

How your eyes go soft...

when she smiles at you.

How you puff up with pride...

as you share her newest photos with people.

How amazing watching you two together is for me.
